Why start with volunteering

An employer hesitating over an empty résumé is not doubting you — they simply have nothing to look at. Volunteering solves that in the only way that works: by giving you something to show.

The commitment is usually lighter than a job, the interview less intimidating, and the organization expects to be guiding someone who is starting out.

What MonGig actually does

Volunteer opportunities sit at the same level as jobs: same account, same place, same verification. An organization posts an opportunity, you apply, and once you start, your hours are logged in your dashboard.

What kinds of organizations

The organizations recruiting volunteers on MonGig are the ones specifically looking for young people: community groups, events, supervised activities. We do not publish a public list of those opportunities — they become visible once your account exists, which protects the organizations as much as the students.

If you want to be paid

Nothing forces you to choose. Plenty of students begin with volunteering, build up validated hours, then apply for a paid student job with a profile that is no longer empty.

The opportunities themselves are reserved for MonGig members — that is what makes it possible to verify every student and every employer.
