Recruiting students and young volunteers

Hiring someone for their first job is not ordinary recruiting. The candidate has no references, no résumé — and often not yet the confidence to apply.

The trouble with general job boards

They are built around track record: experience filters, résumé keywords, years in role. For a first-job posting those tools sort nothing — they simply exclude everyone.

MonGig starts from the other end. A student signs up with their school email, which establishes that they really are a student, and their profile is then built from hours actually validated rather than from claims.

What you can post

A student job — part-time, seasonal, an internship — or a volunteer opportunity if you are a non-profit. Both go through the same process and are reviewed before going live.

  • Listings are not public: they are visible only to registered, verified students.
  • Messaging happens inside the platform, with no email addresses exchanged.
  • Parental consent for under-18s is handled by MonGig before any application.
  • You validate the hours worked or volunteered afterwards.

Validating hours, and why it helps both sides

When a student logs their hours, you validate or reject them from your dashboard. For them, those validated hours become a verifiable certificate. For you, it is an accurate record of what was actually done — and, for the next employer, the reference that was missing.

Who MonGig is for

Businesses, non-profits, municipalities and companies hiring young people into entry-level roles, and community organizations looking for student volunteers. If you are recruiting experienced profiles, this is not the right platform — and we would rather say so here.

Frequently asked questions

Will my listing be visible on Google?

No. Listings are reachable only by registered, verified students, and are indexed by no search engine. That is a condition of students’ and parents’ trust.

Can I post volunteering rather than a job?

Yes. A “volunteer” type exists when you post, and hour validation works the same way.

How are candidates verified?

Every student signs up with their school email, and under-18s need a parent’s consent before their first application.

What does it cost?

Employer plans are set out on the pricing page. It is free for students, always.

The opportunities themselves are reserved for MonGig members — that is what makes it possible to verify every student and every employer.
